At our birth
As ideas churn
Eager to feed our minds

Growing at such a speed

Jumping for joy
As we spread our wings
Grabbing new experiences

Gracefully we mature
Our patterns now engraved
All the colors of the world
Sculptures what we play

The fullness of life
Here is where we understand
Fall into wonders

Have you ever felt
Stuck in slow motion picture
You can hear the reel on the projector
Spinning
Holding control
Of the old movie

You keep waiting for it to jump
Off the track
Unravel in the smoky dark room

Ribbons of film
Smacking the machine
Broken from being used
Over and over again

Staring at the over sized screen
It dangles by the falling curtains
Rips of age, yellowed
Full of hidden images

Squinted eyes drown in
Sorrow and pain
As they try to decipher
What’s left

There’s one frame stuck in the light
Just a moment
A fraction of something

A smile trapped in time
Showing a glimmer of hope
A remembrance of ways before

Nothing but warm feelings now
Consume your body
As you realize
You have ripened with style and grace

My smile is still there
Even though lines dance
Across my face

What a wonderful story
Held in this dimension

Soon the finale will come
